I’m so excited to be working on this Kickstarter Campaign to fund the production of my new album – Rise. All of the songs are written, the production team (Just Pretend Records) is excited and working to secure the right musicians for the project and the perfect space to record in. As some of you know (those who have already contributed, or who have been following my progress) the campaign launched on its own accord on October 5th. I guess you could say I accidentally hit the wrong button – regardless, I had to put my fast shoes on and play catch up with announcements and networking, so as to not lose a whole day of the campaign. I sent out a group email to about twenty people and then I had to step away because I needed to help my friends prepare their restaurant for their grand opening. I wasn’t thrilled about how things had started, and having to step away so soon was an act of letting go and trusting that it would all work out in the end – I was optimistic. Even so, I was still surprised when I got home six hours later, and there was roughly $1,400 contributed to the campaign. My phone had a number of encouraging messages from friends and family, and when I checked my social media pages a number of people had already started circulating my campaign page and asking others to make a contribution. I’m so inspired by all of you and bursting with gratitude right now. If you haven’t see my kickstarter page yet, please check it out and share my campaign with your friends or anyone else you think might resonate with my music and the message. Aaaaannnd… if you can make a financial contribution that would be amazing, though I’m grateful for any sort of contribution you are willing to make (spreading the word, long distance hugs, prayers, positive intentions, etc). I know that when a community comes together in love and support, we are capable of anything. Thank you so much!!!
With love and gratitude – C
I am excited to announce the release of “Spark up the fire”, the first track on the, as of yet, untitled demo for my new solo project, “C”. There will be three more songs on the demo, coming out soon! All four songs were recorded in January when I was in New York visiting with my good friend, Daniel DeKalb (of the band One Red Martian). The best thing about this demo is that it is only a precursor to, and very simplistic shadow of, the full length album that I’ll be releasing later this year. Keep an eye out for details on the Kickstarter campaign I’ll be launching in a couple of months to help fund the production of this long overdue LP.
This song in particular holds a very special place in my heart as it deals with some early childhood trauma that has had rippling effects in my life. I want to acknowledge a couple of people who helped to inspire this song, and thus, helped to inspire great healing within me. Continue reading →
